Cash Injections for Holding Events
In a landmark initiative aimed to prop up the exhibitions and events sector and cheer up business sentiments in Australia, the Melbourne Convention Bureau has decided to infuse funds into the business ecosystem. Event organizers would be provided with cash to cover actual costs for hosting events in Australia’s event capital.
The National Business Events Program would provide select event organizers’ with funding upto $25,000 that would cover costs for hosting the event in Melbourne. Expenses related to venue, hire, transport and other miscellaneous costs would also be covered with 50 percent being payable before the start of the event for partially covering upfront expenses.
Funding will be determined based on the event duration and number of delegates attending the event in-person by travelling to Victoria from different states. Conferences, exhibitions, workshops and seminars, corporate meetings, business events, etc., will be covered.
Analysts believe that incentives of these kinds will encourage event organizers to host shows without worrying on funds.
