DefExpo-2022 to be held in Gujarat from October 18-23
The 12th edition of DefExpo 2022, India’s flagship defence exhibition, will be held in Gandhinagar from October 18-22. The theme of this edition is ‘Path to Pride’, with the goal of instilling patriotic pride and motivating people to contribute to nation-building by developing a strong domestic defense sector. It will be held in three venues, spread over 1,00,000 sq mt at the Helipad Exhibition Centre. Each day of the five-day event will feature live demonstrations near the Sabarmati River Front that will highlight the armed forces’, DPSUs’, and industry’s tools and expertise.
In conjunction with the exhibition, Bandhan, which helps companies form partnerships, seminars, and webinars showcasing start-ups and MSMEs, cutting-edge technology solutions for the future battlefield, Artificial Intelligence in Defence, student visits, and promoting Gujarat as an aerospace and defence investment destination are planned.
The biennial event will boost investment, manufacturing capacity, and new technology opportunities. The display aligns with Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of achieving self-sufficiency in defence and US$5 billion in exports by 2025. With several foreign orders won recently by Indian companies, India has successfully positioned itself as a rising defence manufacturing base.
