Resumption of flights a favorable move in reviving the aviation industry and corporate MICE travel, says SOTC
With the resumption of domestic flight services on May 25 under stringent norms, SOTC Travel termed the development as a favourable move in reviving the aviation industry and corporate MICE travel.
All commercial passenger flights were suspended with effect, from March 25th due to the imposition of nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus.
Commenting on the development, Vishal Suri, Managing Director SOTC Travel Limited said, βAs the Indian skies open up today for domestic passenger services, the calibrated opening up of domestic routes is a favourable move in reviving the aviation industry. The resumption of flights adhering to all health and safety rules will encourage travel. With the capping airfares, we look forward to more passengers travelling due to affordable ticket prices.β
He also mentioned that the resumption of domestic passenger services will also aid in the revival of corporate MICE travel.
As per the SOTC's MICE research report β32% of the corporates stated that Aug - Sep will be the right time to restart discussions and operations on MICE while 55% felt it will be Oct-Dec. 25% of the corporates look at foreign destinations and 39% of the corporates indicated that their MICE budgets would remain the same," he added.
